MGE takes responsibility to:

  • Provide reliable energy while balancing the needs and values of those we serve

  • Preserve and protect our environment while providing affordable, reliable energy

  • Encourage and support local economic and business development

Star Sponsors

City of Madison Water Utility: provides water service to more than 62,000 locations in the City of Madison, Town of Madison, Shorewood Hills, Maple Bluff, Blooming Grove, and Town of Burke. A deep, high-quality aquifer beneath the city is the source of our water supply. As the city grows and expands, the utility must continue to plan for and add wells, storage, pumping equipment, and new and replacement pipe to meet demand for safe water, to address quality issues and supply issues as they arise, and to work with the community to responsibly manage the resource.

Dane County Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division: responsible for the siting, construction, operation, maintenance, closure, and post-closure care of Dane County's landfills, compost sites, and landfill gas-to-energy systems. This Division also coordinates and manages the County's recycling and Clean Sweep programs and activities. Landfill gas-to-energy systems reduce the County's budget by $1.2 million annually. And the Division's integrated approach to landfilling, composting, recycling, and hazardous waste disposal ensures an affordable long-term solid waste disposal system for Dane County residents and future generations.
